This application is open to staff or independent/freelance journalists of any nationality. Preference is given to those with interest or experience reporting on environment issues for outlets in the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Viet Nam.

The HEFAT Training will take place April 20-24, 2020 in Bogor, Indonesia. Participants are also expected to participate in the Southeast Asia Rainforest Journalism Fund convening April 17-19 at the same location. Transportation, accommodation, meal, and course costs are covered by the Rainforest Journalism Fund.
